FLINT TRANSCO'S DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAM

Flint Transco has developed an industry leading Driver Training Program that mentors the skills required to operate our equipment safely in a variety of challenging conditions. We provide training and mentoring so that new drivers can become industry recognized driving professionals. Our program provides proper training for experienced drivers wanting to enter the oil and gas industry and experienced swampers transitioning to become a professional driver.

LOADING AND UNLOADING EQUIPMENT COMPETENCY TRAINING

Flint Transco offers a complete training course for our field personnel specifically for loading and unloading equipment (cats, graders, ditchers, etc.) properly and safely. This course is another opportunity to provide a safe learning environment benefiting both our employees and clients.

Flint Transco takes pride in its Driver Training Program by providing the essential leadership tools to our mentors who in turn shares best practices with everyone that joins our employee team.

PETROLEUM COMPETENCY PROGRAM

As one component of Flint Transco’s goal of a Zero Loss Culture, Flint Transco has trained five Competency Assessors in the Petroleum Competency Program (PCP). The PCP certifies workers in certain occupations within the petroleum industry and is managed by the Petroleum Human Resources Council of Canada with the PCP Assessors training and database managed by Enform. Employees receiving the Enform PCP Competency Assessment Certificate may apply to Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board for a Designated Occupation Certificate in the occupation they have been assessed as competent. Flint Transco is working towards having all our Rig Move Supervisors undergo the Competency Assessment process to ensure only competent Rig Move Supervisors are managing the rig move operations as Flint Transco strives to achieve our goal of zero injuries, damages and environmental incidents.

FATIGUE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Drivers, Supervisors and Swampers at Flint Transco attend in-house Fatigue Management Training to learn the skills required to live a safer, healthier and more productive lifestyle. The purpose of the Fatigue Management Program is to ensure management, supervisory personnel and employees understand what fatigue is, how extended consecutive days of work or extended hours of work can affect fatigue, and the proactive methods for dealing with fatigue. Training for employees is provided to allow them to recognize and respond to fatigue issues, and to learn about the impact diet and exercise may have on fatigue. Fatigue Management Training is one of the tools drivers use to improve their work life balance.

A 'VALUES' BASED TEAM

In April 2002, Flint Energy Services Ltd. experienced tremendous growth from many acquisitions and from this spike in employee growth, the executive leadership team of Flint realized that there was a need to communicate a common direction and create a common culture. The decision was made to build a values-based organization, a process that began with the creation of a Vision and Values mandate. Flint promotes that all of its employees act with Integrity, strive for Success, achieve Excellence, and be a Dynamic force in the oil and gas industry. These values evolved further in 2005 with the addition of the fifth value - People and remain unchanged to this day. From this vision and values creation, Flint made a further commitment to provide Values-Based Leadership (VBL) training to its employees. VBL training has grown and developed over the years to become an integral part of Flint. The first level of training is the DiSC, Ethics Awareness and Advanced DiSC/Adaptability courses, which are available for all salaried employees. Level two delivers Situational Leadership II, and LMVR: The Leadership Challenge, which are available for supervisors and potential supervisors. The third level of courses available for supervisors and managers, Seven Habits of Highly Effective Managers, The Discipline of Execution - Maximizing Performance, Speed of Trust, and Building High Performing Teams. Flint makes an effort to help all of their employees develop values-based leadership skills, a trend that will continue to benefit our people and clients for years to come. Flint realizes the need to develop superior, well-trained leaders who can realize our vision while living by our values. Giving employees the opportunity for career development through VBL training is part of Flint’s commitment to becoming an 'Employer of Choice', a commitment that will surely continue to grow along with the company.
